Our Team
Board Members
Our charity organization's board members represent a broad range of backgrounds and hold the crucial responsibility of guiding our strategic direction, ensuring adherence to legal and ethical standards, and protecting our mission and values. Similar to our Goodwill Ambassadors, our board members serve on a voluntary basis, without receiving any salary from the charity. Additionally, they personally cover all expenses related to travel and accommodation when engaged in charity projects.
CEO and Marketing Director
Susan Cao
Susan is appreciative of her parents' sacrifices. When they escaped Vietnam by boat to seek a better life, she saw her father's strength, perseverance and work ethics as he did physical work in Alberta's cold temperatures to provide for his family. Even when they only had the basic necessities, her mom was a role model. She taught Susan generosity by sharing what little they had to give to those less fortunate than themselves.
Susan is grateful to have friends and family who support her charitable projects. Her initial focus on helping orphans and disabled children in Vietnam has grown over the years to include ailing seniors, abandoned people, and underprivileged families in different parts of the world.
Susan believes that there are no boundaries to charity work. All the projects that she accomplished prior to 2014 are the heart and soul behind the creation of Generously Giving Back.
President and Communications Director
Rebecca Marcil
Rebecca also saw her family's early struggles after arriving in Canada. She feels lucky to have been able to pursue academic, professional and personal goals. Now, she gets personal satisfaction from lessening the hardships that those less fortunate face in their daily lives.
Treasurer
Sharla Lupul
Sharla is inspired by how generous people are and strives to ensure that the funds entrusted to GGB are accounted for accurately and in the best interest of the donors.
Goodwill Ambassadors
Our Goodwill Ambassadors possess in-depth familiarity with the region, communities, and individuals. They uphold the utmost accountability when it comes to managing our funds.
Our dedicated Goodwill Ambassadors willingly embark on extensive journeys, often to remote locations, to personally distribute vital provisions, including food, clothing, and basic necessities, to the beneficiaries of our projects, which encompass children, seniors, families, and communities.
These individuals are carefully selected based on their exceptional ethical standards, reliability, trustworthiness, project management expertise, compassion, and respectfulness. It is important to note that our Ambassadors willingly bear the entire cost of their travel and accommodation expenses when carrying out any GGB project.
Goodwill Ambassador
Tran Thi Chi Lan
To Chi Lan, charity is not huge work or anything extra special. She organizes multiple charity trips a year to the unreachable villages and mountainous areas to distribute packaged necessities for the local people in need. Chi Lan has an important role as a direct liaison between Canada and Vietnam and is our project puzzle finisher.
She believes that even though we may feel our lives are difficult, we are still richer and have more opportunities for a better life than most people. As she puts it, “If we do not care, then who will? If each person can share just a little bit, then it will bring happiness to a lot of people.”

Kasim Kasim
Kasim did not have an easy childhood growing up in Jakarta. He vowed that if he ever became successful, he would give back to those who are less fortunate than him. He has been true to his own promise.
Since the success of his first restaurant in Jakarta, he has given back to his community, locally and internationally. Following natural disasters in Burma, Thailand, Indonesia, and Nepal, he successfully fundraised to donate towards relief efforts. Because he cares about the well-being of people, he also travels to these countries to personally cook for them as well. GGB is proud to have Kasim as one our Goodwill Ambassadors.

Cherie Vu
Having been raised in a family of six with parents that consistently looked after others in seemingly simple ways like providing a listening ear, a meal, a place to stay, or donating to a local food bank hamper during regular grocery store trips, she was given a foundation of giving to build upon.
When not building memories with her family, she enjoys exercising, rowing, skiing, local festivals and events, playing board games, watching movies, and travelling to various places around the world to experience other cultures and food.
