5th Annual GGB Charity Gala

Join us for an exciting evening of dinner, entertainment, silent auctions, and door prizes on Saturday, November 3, 2018.

 

In the last year, we have helped seniors, orphans and people living in remote villages in Africa, El Salvador, Nepal, Phillippines, and Vietnam. We also assisted 17 students from Vietnam: 15 are attending post-secondary schools, and 2 are attending high school. Five of the students who received GGB scholarships have graduated from Universities and have found steady, well paying positions. They are now able to help their families and give back to their communities by volunteering.

The majority of our projects are international as the Canadian dollar stretches so much farther in many of the countries we assist. We are also committed to helping locally, and donated our time and resources to help the Edmonton Food Bank, Boyle Street and its various programs, Santa’s Anonymous, Christmas Bureau, and local families in need.

100% of net proceeds from ticket sales and any money raised from this event will be directed to our charity projects. Visit our Who We Help page to read more about our projects.

TICKETS:

  1. Individual: $70
  2. 1 Table of 10 – Regular Menu: $700
  3. 1 Table of 10 – All Vegetarian: $700

With the purchase of a table of 10, a sign will be placed on the table with your choice of message (ie. name, company name, logo etc.)

Due to high demand, we are introducing an option to purchase a Table of 10 with an all vegetarian menu. Due to the nature of the family style dishes that will be served, we cannot accomodate an Individual ticket with vegetarian menu option at this time.

NOTE: If you buy 10 Individual tickets, we cannot guarantee that everyone will be at the same table. If you wish for all 10 attendees to sit together, we recommend you to buy a Table of 10.

A highly entertaining evening is planned.

SILENT AUCTION:

The focus of GGB is to raise much needed funds for our projects. We can accept both cash and credit card payments. More details about our silent auction items will be announced soon!

RAFFLE:

$20 for a ticket.

The raffle is for a one week stay in a beautiful executive 5-bedroom vacation home in Orlando, Florida that has a private indoor pool.  There is a 1 in 150 chance of winning this lovely home that normally rents out for $2,000 – $3,000/week.

50/50 TICKETS:

$5/5 tickets, $10/10 tickets, $20/20 tickets

There will be roaming ticket sellers and a dedicated table for you to make your purchase. We accept cash only for this. We will be drawing the winner near the end of the evening. You must be present when the ticket is drawn, otherwise another ticket will be selected.

DINNER:

The dinner consists of 8 traditional Chinese dishes, served family style. The regular menu will have meat and vegetable dishes. The vegetarian menu, for those who purchase a full table of 10, will serve only vegetarian dishes.

Food allergies and sensitivities: The restaurant recognizes that food allergies can be life threatening. Unfortunately, due to the complexity of the dishes, the number of dishes, and the number of people that are served, the restaurant is not able to accommodate for food allergies or sensitivities at this time.

Q: Are there ID requirements or an age limit enter the event?

A: Not at all. Everyone is welcome.  The price is the same for everyone.

Q: What’s the dress code?

A:  Business formal or cocktail attire. While we encourage our guests to dress for the occasion, we want our guests to feel comfortable. If you’re really in doubt, check out the gallery of past dinners on our website (2016, 2015, and 2014).

Q: What’s the refund policy?

A: All sales are final. Tickets are non-refundable.

Q: Where are the parking located? And how much is parking?

A: Free parking is available around the restaurant.

Q: Is there reserved seating?

A: There is no reserved seating. With a purchase of a table of 10, everyone will be grouped together.  If purchasing less than 10 tickets, you will be seated with other groups of people.
