Annual Christmas Donation to Edmonton’s Food Bank

Each December, GGB carries out its Annual Christmas Shopping and Delivery Project, supporting the urgent seasonal needs of Edmonton’s Food Bank. In 2024, the team delivered an impressive 390 kilograms (858 pounds) of essential goods—including non-perishable food items, hygiene products, and household staples—to help meet the growing demand during the holiday season.

The Christmas period is especially critical for Edmonton’s Food Bank, which serves over 40,000 individuals monthly through its hamper programs and supports more than 450,000 meals and snacks via partner organizations. Rising costs, economic uncertainty, and harsh winter conditions place additional strain on vulnerable families, seniors, and individuals experiencing homelessness. The need for donations spikes during this time, as many struggle to afford both food and heating.

GGB’s contribution helps ensure that families in crisis can enjoy a warm, nourishing holiday meal and feel the support of a caring community. This initiative reflects GGB’s enduring commitment to compassion, dignity, and practical support—both at home and abroad—as we continue to respond to the needs of vulnerable populations across local neighborhoods and global communities.
