2014 – Gia Lai & Dak Lak Province, Vietnam – Villages in the Province

Beneficiaries: PUN Village, J’RI Village, Buu Chau Village

Locations:  Gia Lai & Dak Lak Province, Vietnam

Date: March 2014

How we helped: Ms. Tran Minh Quan, along with a group of volunteers led a 3 day charity mission where they travelled to the Dak Lak Province visiting PUN and J’RI villages.

The Charity mission started in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) on Friday March 28th, 2014 at 10:30pm, arriving to PUN village at 3pm on Saturday March 29th, 2014.  They were distributing food and necessities to the villagers that have been lining up for hours under the raging hot sun, in order to receive their packaged goods.

Minh Quan’s comments were "Nhìn nhg người già tay chân ko lành lặn, đa sốđều phải mang vớ chân để che đi phần khiếm khuyết of cơ thể, các chị em ko cầm dc nước mắt. Mọi ng quên đi tất cả mệt nhọc of quãng thời gian đi đường quá dài, để bắt đầu công việc rất tận tình và chu đáo."

From the PUN village, the group travelled to J’RIvillage visiting a Leprosy Camp.   Due to the unforgiving terrain, rice bags, dried food, etc. had to be transferred from trucks to local mopeds to reach J’RI village.

March 30th, 2014 first thing in the morning at 6:30am, the group visited Mái ấm Thiên Ân làng Pleichuet-Gia Lai Province, residence that cares for orphans, abandoned children, and disabled children.   100kg of rice, 100 boxes of instant noodles, 100 bags of powdered milk, 100 boxes of crackers, cooking oil, soya sauce, sugar, sausages, crackers, balloons, etc. were passed on to the Orphanage.

By 8:00am March 30th, 2014, the group then travelled to Buu Chau visiting an orphanage, with crackers, cookies, and candies for the children.
