Project Details:
The Little Lamb Center, operated by the Missionaries of the Poor, is a permanent residential facility in Sawang Calero, Cebu City, dedicated to caring for children—from infants to young children—living with multiple disabilities. Since its founding in 2006, it has remained the only center of its kind in Cebu, providing a safe and loving home for children with conditions such as cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome, and other physical and intellectual challenges.
Managed by the Brothers of the Missionaries of the Poor, the center offers not only shelter and medical care but also spiritual guidance, education, and emotional support. Children are embraced with dignity and compassion, regardless of their background. The center also serves the wider community through outreach programs, including catechism classes for children in nearby squatter areas and fellowship gatherings for individuals affected by leprosy.
Currently, 36 children reside at the center, many of whom require full-time care and assistance with basic tasks like feeding. In response to a needs list provided by the Brothers, Generously Giving Back (GGB) stepped in to help. With the kind support of Jefferson and Christina Bagalay from the Church of the Holy Family, the donations were successfully transported and received by Brother David Masai. While photos of the children are not permitted, their joyful expressions were deeply moving. Thank you to all sponsors—your generosity has brought immense happiness to these children.
On December 9, 2023, GGB delivered essential supplies to the center, based on a list provided by Brother Zaldy. GGB ambassador Dennis Reyes, along with Jefferson Bagalay and Christina Atayde, will personally bring items including diapers, baby bathtubs, body wash, meat, fish, sugar, pasta noodles, rice, cream, biscuits, seasonings, drink powder, toothpaste, and bleach.
