Project Details:
We extend our deepest thanks to our incredible GGB volunteers for assembling care bags for children in the Philippines, both girls and boys from ages 6 to 12 years old. Packed in August, each bag was thoughtfully filled with essential school supplies and personal items—including pencils, sharpeners, crayons, erasers, coloring books, a toy, toothbrushes, toothpaste, underwear, shirts, shorts, pants, and a jacket—to support both learning and well-being.
These bags began their journey in Edmonton, thanks to the help of Ray and Erin Paul, and were then transferred to our dedicated local ambassadors in Fort McMurray, Carlos and Minda Borromeo. With generosity and care, Carlos and Minda covered the shipping costs and sent the container to the Philippines, where Minda personally delivered the bags to the children in December.
The GGB bags were distributed to three locations: Angono and Moltanban (both on the outskirts of Manila), and Mindoro Island. Carlos shipped the bags via container to the Philippines, where Minda spent a few winter months. During her visit to these areas—places she had previously shown us during our February 2023 trip—she personally handed out the bags to the children.
This is the heart of what we do—bringing joy, dignity, and hope to children in need. The smiles on their faces say it all.
