Year:
2019
Location:
Sindhupalchok, Nepal
Beneficiary:
Villages of Badare, Purana Gaun, and Chamate in Nepal’s Sindhupalchowk District
Project Details:
In the remote hill villages of Badare, Purana Gaun, and Chamate in Nepal’s Sindhupalchowk District, access to clean drinking water has long been a daily struggle. Residents rely on natural springs, often walking long distances to collect water. Without a proper supply system, families face health risks and hardship—especially during dry seasons.
To address this urgent need, Generously Giving Back partnered with local coordinators Kasim Kasim and village leader Dilli Prasad Timalsina to launch a gravity-fed water pipeline system. The project includes three 2,000-liter PVC tanks placed at the water source and seven 1,000-liter tanks distributed across the villages. These tanks are connected by over 2,500 meters of piping, with fittings and infrastructure designed by a skilled technician. Importantly, all labor was provided voluntarily by the villagers themselves—demonstrating deep community ownership and collaboration.
This initiative was unanimously approved by the GGB Board and reflects the organization’s commitment to sustainable, community-led solutions. With a modest investment in materials, the project now provides safe, accessible drinking water to hundreds of residents—transforming daily life and improving health outcomes in one of Nepal’s most underserved regions.
