Families in remote highlands of Hà Giang Province
Year:
2025
Location:
Hà Giang, Vietnam
Beneficiary:
Families in Sín Lũng Chứ and Sá Lũng A villages in Hà Giang Province
Project Details:
In the remote highlands of Hà Giang Province, families in villages such as Sín Lũng Chứ and Sá Lũng A face daily challenges shaped by rugged terrain, harsh climate, and limited access to basic services. These communities—home to ethnic minority groups like the H’mong—often rely on subsistence farming and handmade crafts for survival, yet struggle with food insecurity, especially during the colder months when agricultural yields drop and travel becomes treacherous.
Our charity donated food hampers to 8 families in Sín Lũng Chứ village and 36 families in Sá Lũng A village, Phố Cáo commune, Đồng Văn district. The hampers consisted of rice, cooking oil, noodles, spice, fish sauce, soup base, shampoo/conditioner, soap, canned fish, soy sauce, salt, cooked BBQ pork, ham, sticky rice cakes and soft drinks, cookies and other snacks to these villages to help bridge the nutritional gap and offer immediate relief to families living in extreme poverty.
Many households here are classified as poor or near-poor, with children attending school under difficult conditions and families lacking consistent access to clean water, healthcare, and sufficient food supplies.
These hampers are more than just meals, they’re a gesture of solidarity and care, delivered with the hope of easing hardship and reminding these communities that they are not forgotten. By reaching out to these isolated areas, we aim to support both physical well-being and emotional resilience, especially during seasons when resources are stretched thin.
