Beneficiary:
Students in Central Vietnam
Project Details:
In January 2016, Generously Giving Back (GGB) expanded its commitment to education and equity by distributing scholarships to 14 students in Central Vietnam—supporting both high school and post-secondary learners from underserved communities.
Supporting High School Girls Studying Far from Home
Four scholarships were awarded to female high school students from a remote region in Central Vietnam, home to a large population of indigenous families. This area, with a population of 4,000 spread across 13 small districts—including Buôn Đôn, Cư Kuin, Ea Súp, Krông Ana, and Buôn Hồ—is marked by geographic isolation and limited access to education.
To help bridge this gap, Sister Francis Loan runs a boarding shelter that allows students from distant villages to attend district schools. The shelter provides daily meals and a safe place to stay for approximately 40–50 students from kindergarten to high school.
The four high school girls supported by GGB were studying in Da Nang, far from the shelter, and required financial assistance for the upcoming school term. Their tuition for the current term had already been covered, and GGB stepped in to ensure their continued education would not be interrupted.
Empowering 10 Post-Secondary Students
In addition to supporting high school learners, GGB awarded scholarships to 10 post-secondary students pursuing higher education. These young adults, many of whom come from marginalized backgrounds, are striving to build brighter futures through university and vocational training.
By covering essential educational costs, GGB helps reduce financial barriers and encourages academic success, personal growth, and long-term community impact.
