Personalized Hampers for Children

GGB volunteers recently partnered with the DOCS Foundation in Nepal to deliver personalized care hampers to children in need. With the help of Mr. Lila, who provided each child’s name, age, and gender in advance, we were able to customize every GGB bag with care and intention.

During our visit, Liem, Kasim, and Susan spent several days at the foundation—cooking, playing, and sharing meals with the children, building bonds that went far beyond the gifts themselves. Each child received their own GGB bag and opened it with joy and gratitude.

GGB funds were used to purchase the hampers, and in a beautiful gesture of generosity, Liem Banh personally treated all the children to individual-sized pizzas. This project was a celebration of connection, compassion, and the power of thoughtful giving.

The DOCS Foundation Nepal (Destitute and Orphan Children Safeguarding Foundation) is a non-profit organization based in Kathmandu, dedicated to supporting children who are orphaned, abandoned, or living in extreme poverty. Since its founding in 2002, the foundation has provided safe housing, education, healthcare, and emotional support to children from remote and underserved regions of Nepal. Many of these children have faced neglect, abuse, or exploitation, and DOCS works to rehabilitate and reintegrate them into society or family settings.

Located in Lalitpur near Kathmandu, the foundation also offers volunteer opportunities for individuals looking to make a meaningful impact. Through the help of donors and community partners, DOCS continues to create a nurturing environment where every child has the chance to grow, learn, and thrive.
