Project Details:
Families in Kỳ Sơn District, Nghệ An, Vietnam often live in remote mountainous areas with limited access to basic services like healthcare, education, and transportation. Many belong to ethnic minority groups such as the Hmong and Thai, relying on subsistence farming and livestock to meet daily needs.
Despite the region’s natural beauty, poverty remains widespread. Children may walk long distances to attend school, and medical care is often hours away. Infrastructure challenges—like poor roads and seasonal flooding—further isolate these communities and deepen economic hardship. Aid efforts, whether through food, education, or economic developmen, can make a profound difference in their lives.
We purchased 313 warm GGB coats for school children who face harsh winter conditions in the remote mountainous areas of in Keng Ðu communes, in Kỳ Sơn District, Nghệ An, Vietnam.
We extend heartfelt thanks to our local ambassador Mrs. Chi Lan, who personally delivered the items across long, cold, and challenging terrain. Special appreciation also goes to Goodwill Ambassador Danny Dat Ho from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, for assisting with distribution, and to Ms. Minh Quan, whose generous donations of sweaters, undergarments, medicated oil, and toques added warmth and care to each GGB hamper.
