Year:
2015
Location:
Gia Lai, Vietnam
Beneficiary:
Individuals and Families in Gia Lai Province
Project Details:
In December 2015, Generously Giving Back (GGB) launched a compassionate outreach project to support individuals and families affected by poverty and leprosy across remote regions of Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces in Vietnam. These areas are home to many indigenous communities, where access to healthcare, education, and basic necessities remains limited.
Working closely with local partners, GGB's Goodwill Ambassador, Chi Lan, distributed almost 600 care packages to vulnerable villagers, including those living with physical disabilities and chronic illness. Each package was thoughtfully assembled to meet daily needs and offer comfort, nourishment, and dignity.
Contents of Each Package:
- 10 kg of rice
- 1 box of instant noodles (10 packs)
- 15 additional noodle packs
- 1 kg dried fish
- 0.5 kg cooking spices
- 1 liter cooking oil
- 0.5 kg laundry detergent
- 1 packet of broth powder
Beneficiaries:
- 100 villagers (poor and leprosy-affected) in Đăk Trôi, Mang Yang District
- 63 individuals with leprosy in H'Lăng, Chư Sê District
- 30 individuals with leprosy in Đăk Dve, Kon Rẫy District
- 200 impoverished villagers in H'Ra, Mang Yang District
- 46 individuals with leprosy in Phun Á A Village, Chư Pưh District
- 56 individuals with leprosy in Bầu Cạn and Gira Communes, Chư Prông District
- 60 physically disabled children at Khánh Thư Home for the Disabled
This project reflects GGB’s ongoing commitment to reaching the most marginalized with practical support and heartfelt care. By delivering these packages directly to households and institutions, GGB helped restore dignity and ease the burden for hundreds of individuals living in isolation and hardship.
