In August 2017, Generously Giving Back (GGB) supported Từ Ân Temple in Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu, Vietnam. The temple is a Buddhist sanctuary caring for vulnerable individuals. The temple, led by Head Female Monk Thích Nữ Minh Hải — who was diagnosed with stage II cancer - provides shelter and care for 146 children (including 48 infants), 12 elderly residents, and 4 visually impaired individuals.
One of the resident monks, Nguyen Dung, has lived at the temple since age 12 and received a one-time GGB scholarship in March 2017 after completing her university studies in Ho Chi Minh City. She continues her religious education and remains committed to service.
Due to the temple’s limited resources and the poverty of the surrounding town, GGB Ambassador Chi Lan personally assessed the temple’s needs and coordinated a donation of essential vegetarian food and caregiving supplies. The items included soya beans, dried shiitake mushrooms, vegetarian meat, fresh milk, disposable diapers, baby wet wipes, and plastic cups for the children. Chi Lan arranged for local purchase and delivery, ensuring the temple received the goods directly and promptly.
