How we helped: During the first week of November, 2014, a local Vietnamese charity group lead by Lady Monk Pham Quang Duyen along with 15 other volunteers distributed clothes, food, and necessities to the Local/Ethnic people in the villages of Ha Giang Province.
Generously Giving Back was able to contribute to the Ha Giang Project. But unfortunately, with the limited funds we had prior to our First Annual Fundraising Dinner, we were only able to contribute 6% of the total cost of the goods to be delivered. The balance of funds was contributed by generous donors in Vietnam, USA, Canada, and Australia.
The areas where they distributed were
- S ủ ng L à , huy ệ n Đ ồ ng V ă n- T ỉ nh H à Giang. 360 parcels of goods to be distributed to impoverished locals, and as well, 564 gifts for students in kindergarten, elementary, and high school. Gifts include food, clothes, blankets, and toys.
- Students in the Schools of Lao Xa, Mo P ả Ph ì n, P ù Tr ừ L ủ ng. In total, there are 202 elementary students and 362 junior & high students.
- Ho à ng Su Phì. 511 parcels of goods will be distributed to impoverished locals.
